Type Locality and Naming

It was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey, Xinjiang Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1961 and published by Wang Baoyu in 1985. The type section is located in Keyi Township of Baicheng County. The reference section is at Yilarleke section in the upper reaches of Altenkos River, northeast of Keyi.

Synonym: (依南里克组)


Lithology and Thickness

The formation, 2221 m in thickness, consists of white to grayish white, thin-bedded to massive, fine- to medium-grained calcite marble, and gray, grayish black monzonitic gneiss, migmatite, etc.


Lithology Pattern:

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It conformably rests onto the underlying Ordovician (Bulongguoer Fm).

Upper contact

It conformably rests below the overlying Yicekebash Gr

Regional extent

The formation is mainly exposed in the Keyi area in southern part of Halke Mt. and is dominated by a suite of metamorphosed clastic rock and carbonate rock.
